Meh, not my favorite, but will not protest it. The food is not bad, but my taste buds usually tell me that there is some ingredient missing. Much of the food is also higher in calories than necessary. 810 calories for a salad is crazy, but I guess that's how it is at many restaurants. The portions are very large. The service is okay. The people behind the counter are really not helpful, and do not really answer questions well, at least when I've been there. I feel like it's taken longer than it should to make my simple salad orders when I am the only customer. The place is usually pretty clean and quiet. Has a nice outside patio and free wifi.

Okay in a pinch this place will do, but make sure if you order pound cake that they cut off the end first because it will be dry and stale.

Food is fine. On par with Panera & that sort of thing. Good, consistent, not uncommon. New location, so everything is shiny & nice. Fun "local" mural on the wall. But: rude. Seriously. I realize this probably isn't your permanent career, cash register boy, but when presented with a Lettuce Entertain You gift certificate, you might consider a kinder, gentler response than "We haven't been part of that management company for the better part of a decade." Oh, I see. Well, thank you for not making me feel like an idiot or anything, young man. Just for that, I shall spend this gift certificate elsewhere! (Well, that and the fact that it's not good here.) Harumph.

I love this place that I'm surprised of the negative reviews. Staff is friendly and they bring your order to you. Desserts all of them are delicious, every single one. Food is yummy too I always order the pesto cavatappi. This place has pretty good breakfast too, think I ordered the Anaheim scrambler which I recommend.

Extremely disappointed with this CB location! Service is very slow, the restaurant is not being kept clean and the food quality and consistency is sub-par. I will not be going back-there are two Panera's nearby and they are a much better value.

I understand that mistakes can be made. I ordered a large catering order for 16 people Two of the orders were wrong- unfortunately due to food allergies, they were not edible. I called and was told they would replace the two lunches. I explained what was wrong with the two items and was assured they would re-make and re-deliver within 45 minutes. Much to my disappointment. BOTH items were delivered a second time with the exact errors that happened in the first place. I called the catering manager who was disappointed to hear as well (she didn't make the sandwiches/salad but she specifically told them how they should be made). The issue I have, is if an order has to be replaced because it is incorrect the first time, don't you double check it before it leaves the restaurant to assure it is correct the second time??

Zero. Wrong order 2x in a row. Food was stale, tasteless, and late. There is no reason to waste time or money in this hole. The menu seems to be a collection of items you will not be enjoying. Nice atmosphere destroyed by neglect and filth. Save yourself disappointment. My cola and napkin was the best part of the meal.

Bothered by poor service today. When our food was brought to us, I started to ask the server and she interrupted me mid sentence and said "for what?" before I could complete my sentence to ask for another silverware. She brought it to us, just dropped it on our table and when I thanked her she did not even bother to look back to acknowledge me saying TY. Very rude I would say. As for the food I would have given 4stars if not for the cup of noodle soup that costs 3.99 and it wasn't even spectacular. I loved the DC chicken salad though and my son loved the carbonara pasta and garlic bread. I always order the maple pecan bar and it is delish... We liked the peach pocket pie as well but wish there would be more filling though.

I know this is a chain restaurant but I really enjoyed my time here today. The food was yummy but I was more so impressed by the staff. From the moment I walked in the door with my mother, the entire staff greeted us with a warm hello. I ordered the Mac N Cheese and it was really yummy! But when Tiffany dropped our food off to our table so was so kind. My mother and I had a good laugh with her. The manager came to our table and asked us about our experience which is a simple gesture but appreciated. But during our whole experience there, there was a young lady, I feel bad I didn't get her name ( she had black and purple hair ) but she couldnt have been sweeter! All in all, I wanted to applaud the manager for hiring such a friendly, welcoming staff.

I went here for dinner for the first time. You do not get much food for your money. The chicken sandwich was about four bites of food. Nothing special. The soup was very mediocre. Compared to Panera and Cosi, Corner bakery is a disappointment. Will not return. Service was also poor.

After 20mins of waiting was told just a minute. At 30 mins still no food. Asked for refund which they gave me plus $35 in coupons . Also cashier could not speak English.

Great Place. I go each week for the breakfast. Best place to get scrambled egg whites. A lot of choices and can be very healthy if need to be. Lunch I tend to be less healthy by ordering the Baked Potato Soup which is amazing. As for the sandwiches, about the same as most other places in it's class. I go back each week for convenience, however it is a bit more pricey than I usually like to spend.

If you're craving a soup, salad or sandwich go to Jason's Deli down the street! Everything I've tried here at Corner Bakery is way too salty for my taste.

Like the other reviewer stated the food is fine. Corner Bakery is a standard, it's stood the same for time and those that are used to it come and visit. The only wow about this location is the outside dining that fills up quickly during warmer weather, even during some not so warm days. If you'd like to sit with eye candy ladies, stop on by, women of all flavors and ages. No cougars, but a few very nice Milfs. I like that they have an economical meal deal with the salad and 1/2 sandwich, a half of a panini with a salad is alot of food, although it makes one think that economical for Vernon hills is $9+.
(3)
Brittany Q.
The food is is standard for any corner bakery. Everything on the menu is always available. My only reason for giving this location three stars is because it is extremely slow at getting the orders out. I've never dined in, only ordered to go and I've waited up to ten minutes for my order when only two people in front of me had ordered in the entire place!

Joann K.
I've been to many Corner Bakery Cafes and this location is probably the cheapest with their food. Today I ordered my usual combo...a chicken pomodori and caesar salad. When my sandwich came out it was so thin. It looked like only 2 slices of bread were panini-ed together. I literally had to lift the bread to see if there was any chicken inside. Of course when I look there's two THINLY sliced chicken breasts. And to top it off my pickle was literally 2 inches long. I regret not taking a picture of my plate. Every time I come here and order the combo I'm disappointed. For $8 I expect a lot more. I'll just have to start ordering something else or pushing to go somewhere else for lunch.

Decent food - attempts to compete against Panera but falls short. Of the sandwiches I've ordered from here (BBLT and Chicken Pomodoro), they're just okay. Heavily grilled, oiled, and pressed FLAT is the best description I can give it. I expected more from the bread (this being a "bakery") but it was only average at best. The best thing about this place is their salads, which are large!

We go here because my daughter really likes the scrambled eggs for breakfast, but I'm not a fan. My problem is that they're really inconsistent - some mornings, your breakfast comes out piping hot, looking wonderful, and tasting great - other days, it looks like a pile of dog vomit on a plate that the high school student working there part time plops down on the table before snatching your order number of the holder and running to the back, lest he or she be expected to, oh - I don't know - explain why your breakfast looks like it was swept off the floor, when clearly he or she would rather go goof off and flirt with some coworkers. By the way, my order is delivered to my table is something different than what I ordered, more than it is correct. It works because it is across from the mall and we'll continue to go there because the location is great, and from time to time, we'll get a decent meal, but other times, we'll get $20 worth of garbage on a plate.

I eat lunch here all the time, better alternative to getting something non-chain (but unhealthy). My favorite is their cold swiss oatmeal- super delicious!

I'm actually ok with this Corner Bakery location. Here's why: It's actually in a great location with ample parking. (That may change with a Sushi Thai restaurant moving in next door to share the lot.) I have never had anything but friendly service from the employees, and I have found that the store manager was very reasonable when I came in with a large group (mix of adults and kids). I have yet to get an order wrong, or wait an exceptionally long time for my plate. The beverage station is usually pretty clean, even during the lunch rush. My food is always fresh tasting, hot or icy cold, whatever it should be. I find the bathrooms to be clean and free of lingering odors (a BIG plus, in my book). My only issue is that there are a lot of unbussed tables during their busy hours. That makes it he** to find a table. I usually just ask a busser to clean a table for me, and they do with a smile. (I have to stress again, they are very nice there). But, really, I shouldn't have to ask... My family likes coming here for the wide variety of tasty plates and healthy options (Yum = Lentil Veggie Soup!!!)

I have been going to the Corner Bakery since the late 90's including their start when connected to Maggiano's. I have continue to visit locations throughout the country and find the food quality to be consistent. However, I'm bored now. It is time to change up the menu a bit to introduce new items and at the same time keeping the best sellers so you don't lose the regulars. You may find though that the regulars drift to the new items. On another note, I prefer to drink from mugs, not paper or styrofoam. Therefore I always ask for my coffee in a mug. Getting a clean mug is always a risk. This particular location could not find a clean mug. Once a clean mug was located by viewing the inside of the cup we found pasted on good particles on the outside. The helpful server hand washed the mug for me. I hate being so wired and picky but a real mug makes my life better as I enjoy the fullness of the flavor. Thanks for putting up with my pickiness. I do suggest a better system for cleaning the mugs so the server doesn't have to be embarrassed.

Not that impress on Corner Bakery Cafe. Went here for the first time and ordered Bundt Cakes. I think this cake would be really good when serve as chocolate not that bad tasting pumpkin. I remembered ordering it by chocolate and they gave me pumpkin. So unlucky. No No plaace when it comes to desserts.

Surprisingly I have never been to a Corner Bakery Cafe... Not sure how I have missed out for so long! Location & Ambiance: The location is good, and its in a busy area which allows for a lot of people to be exposed to it! Food: I personally have only gone once, and it was nice to see they seem to have a full kitchen and make things fresh! I had a egg sandwich which was very tasty! Overall, I was impressed and it worked out well! (Got mine to go) Service & Staff: The service was average, and the staff was nice! It has a very corporate feel, so I wants impressed but I didn't expect much more than what I got. Overall, it feels like a good competitor for Panera Bread style restaurants. I left satisfied, and will definitely consider Corner Bakery Cafe if i'm in the area looking for quick food.

Disappointing... Typically when you are served the wrong dish a manager would come with apologies and replace it complimentarily. Instead they took his whole place to the back room and added fresh cheese? Was suppose to be pesto... Very odd. The Mac and cheese was decent, bruschetta was watery and the hibiscus lemonade was sickeningly sweet. Over all disappointment! Will not return... There are way to many good resturants in Vernon hills... Like sushi Thai next door!!

Now I know why it has such a bad score. They're always out of food. I'm not wasting my time again "hoping" they have enough bacon. Hilarious. They can call me when they have a better ordering strategy and I'll give it another go, but until then, I'm never coming here again.
